Deishin Lee joined the Harvard Business School faculty in 2004. She currently teaches the first year MBA course in Technology and Operations Management.
Professor Lee's current research focuses on the intersection between operations and the environment. She studies how firms can productively use waste. Professor Lee has also studied technology strategy and management of information systems. Her work in these areas investigates development and pricing strategies of technologies characterized by network effects and how firms can optimally codify knowledge in an information system.
Professor Lee received her Ph.D. from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in 2004. She also holds dual MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Management from MIT as a Leaders for Manufacturing fellow, and a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT. Before her doctoral studies, Professor Lee worked at Motorola in the Operations group within the Paging Products, Wireless Data, and Multi-Media divisions.
