Marco Iansiti, David Sarnoff Professor of Business Administration, is a faculty member in the Technology and Operations Management Unit. He has taught a variety of Executive Education and MBA courses on innovation, entrepreneurship, and operations, and is the creator of two HBS courses: "Managing Product Development" and "Starting New Ventures" (with HBS Professor Myra Hart).

Professor Iansiti is an expert on technology and operations strategy and the management of innovation. His research has focused on technological innovation, product development, entrepreneurship, and operations-specifically the drivers of productivity, flexibility, and adaptation in organizations. His latest research studies innovation and operations in networks of organizations, examining the strategy and innovation processes of key organizations including Microsoft, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Wal*Mart, AT&T and Dell, along many others. He is the author or coauthor of more than 50 articles, papers, book chapters, cases, and notes, including "The Ecology of Strategy" (with R. Levien), which was published in the Harvard Business Review, in March 2004. His latest book The Keystone Advantage: What the New Dynamics of Business Ecosystems Mean for Strategy, Innovation, and Sustainability (also with R. Levien) was published in August 2004 by HBS Press and was selected as one of the 10 best business books of the year by Strategy and Business. Professor Iansiti has advised a variety of Fortune 500 firms and is a member of the board of directors of Keystone Strategy Inc., a consulting firm he co-founded and of Eurizon Financial Group, a European Asset Financial Services Firm with more than $300 billion in assets under management.
