Victoria Ivashina joined the Finance Unit of Harvard Business School as an Assistant Professor in July 2006.  She currently teaches the required finance course in the first-year MBA program.  Her research interests are in the area of corporate finance with a focus on credit markets.

Professor Ivashina holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University and a B.A. in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Lima, Peru.  Prior to receiving her Ph.D., she worked as an Associate in the research department of the Superintendency of Banking and Insurance, a Peruvian government agency with regulatory functions similar to those of the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
