Michael D. Kimbrough earned his B.A. in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis and his Ph.D. in Accounting from Indiana University in Bloomington. Prior to his doctoral studies, Professor Kimbrough worked as a senior auditor with Price Waterhouse, where he worked with a variety of manufacturing and high-technology clients. Professor Kimbrough's research interests include the accounting for and disclosure of intangible assets as well as the determinants and economic consequences of firms' voluntary disclosure practices. His research has been published in top academic journals including The Accounting Review and the Journal of Accounting Research. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Accounting Association.
