Andrew A. King's research considers the interaction between business and institutions. He explores how firms can respond profitably to new institutional rules, and he investigates when firms can create new institutions with rules that facilitate profit. His empirical research has investigated how firms respond to environmental regulation, how they create self-regulatory institutions, when they adopt new technologies, and when they enter new markets.
